International Rectifier Introduces Improved 60V and 75V AC-DC Synchronous Rectification Power MOSFETs
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — International Rectifier, IR® (NYSE: IRF), a world leader in power management technology, today announced a new and expanded range of 60V and 75V HEXFET® MOSFETs designed for AC-DC synchronous rectification in servers, laptop adaptors, and desktop power supplies. In addition, these devices can be used in DC-DC converters and low-voltage motor drives.
In the ongoing effort to increase the power density and speed of data processing circuits, the power supply requirement for higher density is increasing. The new IRFB/S/SL3206, 3306, 3207Z and 3307Z families of MOSFETs offer superior synchronous rectification performance through improved RDS(on) in AC-DC SMPS applications, and also improve power density by lowering RDS(on) up to 10% compared to the previous industry standards.
“As microprocessors become faster and more power hungry, IR’s new synchronous rectification (SR) MOSFETs enable lower conduction losses for higher efficiency and greater power density AC-DC SMPS,” said Mario Battello, marketing manager for AC-DC Products at International Rectifier.
Maximum RDS(on) for the new 75V devices ranges from 4.1 mOhms to 5.8 mOhms, and for the 60V devices, from 3.0 mOhms to 4.2
mOhms. The new devices are available in TO-220, D2Pak and TO-262 qualified to industrial grade and moisture sensitivity level
1 (MSL1). IR’s selection of packages enables a simplified performance upgrade path for existing designs. All package types are
lead-free and designed to help customers meet the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(RoHS) directive in the newest SMPS solutions without any compromise in performance.
The new 75V synchronous MOSFETs, when used with the SmartRectifier(TM) IR1167 IC, also have online design software available on IR’s myPower online design site. Designers enter application conditions and performance requirements to obtain recommended IC and MOSFET chip sets which can be sorted by performance and system cost.

The new AC-DC SR HEXFET MOSFETs are available immediately. US Pricing for the IRFB/S/SL3206/3306/3207Z/3307ZxPbF devices ranges from $1.27 to $1.75 each in 10,000-unit quantities. Prices are subject to change. The devices are RoHS compliant.
