International Rectifier Achieves ISO 14001 Certification at Its Mumbai and Borgaro Facilities
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., -- October 2004 -- International Rectifier IRŪ (NYSE: IRF), a world leader in power management technology, today announced that the Company has achieved ISO 14001 certification for its manufacturing facilities in Mumbai, India, and Borgaro, Italy. ISO 14001 is a voluntary standard that details the management tools required for companies to plan, coordinate, and organize their efforts to protect the environment by reducing energy use, environmental impacts and natural resource depletion.
Greg Takagi, Director of International Rectifier's Loss Prevention and Environmental, Health and Safety group said, "The protection of the environment is one of International Rectifier's most important guiding principles directing all that we do, from the development of fundamental energy-saving ICs to the way we manage our operations. Our adoption of ISO 14001 establishes a sturdy foundation on which we can continuously improve our environmental stewardship."
IR's Mumbai and Borgaro sites join the other IR facilities previously certified at El Segundo and Temecula, California; Leominster, Massachusetts; Tijuana, Mexico; Xian, China; Krefeld, Germany; Swansea, Wales; and Newport, Wales.
