International Rectifier Announces The PVT442 Series Of Normally-Closed Microelectronic Relays
"The PVT442 offers a combination of higher off-state blocking voltage, higher load current and lower on-resistance than competitive
devices," says Andy Serkuczewski, director of business management and product marketing for microelectronic relays at International
Rectifier.
EL SEGUNDO, CA. May 1998 - International Rectifier (IR) is announcing the introduction of the PVT442 - a specialized telecom microelectronic
relay with single-pole, single-throw and normally-closed (otherwise referred to as 1 Form B) contacts. Its intended use is in peripheral
telephone equipment where a connection to the telephone line is required during power outages.
The PVT442 features 4,000 VACRMS input-to-output isolation, which meets not only US electrical safety standards, but also those of
most of the rest of the world. Contact ratings are: 400 Volts DC or AC peak, 170 mA of load current in AC mode and 300 mA in DC
mode. The contact resistance is specified at 16 mOhm maximum in AC mode and 7 mOhm maximum in DC mode.
Data sheets for the
PVT442 are available via IR's website (http://www.irf.com), Fax-On-Demand
system (310-252-7100 in the US, 44-1883-733420 in Europe) under document number 10047 and ProCenter (310-252-7105).
Samples are available and the standard lead time beyond the initial inventory package is 6 to 8 weeks. UL and BABT
certifications are pending.
