New International Rectifier 60-V Mosfets Maximize Efficiency
EL SEGUNDO, CA. March 1998 - International Rectifier (IR) has developed a range of 60-V devices in their Generation 5 MOSFET technology
that are primarily targeted at the lower power UPS market, with other possible application areas in automotive audio amplifiers. In
the ever-constant battle to perform the power switch function at a minimum price, designs need to use the lowest possible blocking
voltage to maximize efficiency and enable the use of smaller devices.
By using International Rectifier's 60-V device it is possible to take advantage of IR's high efficiency latest generation HEXFET®
silicon and use a device that will be tailored exactly to the application needs. These new types are particularly suited for use in UPS
inverter applications such as a push-pull, half-bridge or full-bridge with battery voltages of 12 to 36 V. These devices are also useful
in other applications such as automobile audio amplifiers as power switches in the switching power supply section and Class D output
stages.
Product offerings are available in T0-220, FullPak and D2Pak package outlines with RDDS(on) ratings ranging from 12 to 72 mW.
Samples can be located through International Rectifier's normal sales channels and data sheets are available either on International
Rectifier's website (www.irf.com) or Fax-On-Demand system (310-252-7100 USA and 44 1883 733420 Europe).
