EL SEGUNDO, CA, September 1996 - The PVI5013R Series Dual-Channel Opto-Isolated MOSFET Gate Driver is the newest in International Rectifier's (IR) Gen2 line of Photovoltaic Isolators offering fast turn-off circuitry for the first time.

Unlike the Gen1 Series, the PVI5013R Series features a new technologically advanced monolithic design allowing for added smart circuitry on one chip. It also adds dual-channel application flexibility allowing its outputs to drive independent discrete power MOSFETs, or be connected in parallel or in series. This advantage provides a higher-current drive for power MOSFETs or higher-voltage drive for IGBTs.

The PVI5013R Series also offers 3,750 VRMS I/O isolation, 1,200 VDC ouput-to-output isolation and solid-state reliability. The new isolators are perfect for applications requiring high-current and/or high-voltage switching with optical isolation between the low-level driving circuitry and high-energy or high-voltage load circuits.

Applications for the PVI5013R Series include telecommunications, load distribution, industrial controls and instrumentation and measurement. It is packaged in an 8-pin, molded DIP package with either thru-hole or "gull-wing" surface-mount terminals.

Delivery of the PVI5013R is available in standard plastic shipping tubes or on tape-and-reel (for surface-mounts only). The Series will soon bear UL and CSA certifications. Datasheet is currently available PVI5013R.
