International Rectifier Announces the New PVT312 Series Telecom Interface Relay
EL SEGUNDO, CA, June 1996 - The PVT312 Series Telecom Interface Relay is the newest addition to International Rectifier's (IR) successful line of telecom microelectronic relays, the PVT412 Series, PVT422 and PVO402P. The new PVT312 Series represents a further extension of IR's Gen2 line of photovoltaic relays.
In comparison to the PVT412 Series, the PVT312 Series offers higher load current of up to 190mAAC at ñ250 Volts DC or AC peak. In DC-only mode it can switch up to 320mADC at up to 250 VDC. Also the contact resistance (RDD-ON) is considerably lower at 10ohm maximum in AC mode and 3ohm maximum in DC mode.
The PVT312 Series also offers very high input sensitivity; it only takes 2mA of LED drive to turn it on, which makes these relays TTL and CMOS compatible. High input-to-output isolation of 4,000 VRMS is also standard on the PVT312 Series. It offers compliance with all respective
international electrical safety regulations and will soon carry UL Recognition and CSA Certification.
Typical applications for the PVT312 Series include on/off hookswitch, ringer injection, ground start and general switching. Although the PVT312 is a specialized telecom relay, it is also appropriate for other general switching applications such as in industrial controls, automation and instrumentation. With its universal "center-tap" AC and DC output, it fits as a perfect compliment to IR's Gen1 photovoltaic relays such as the PVA33, PVA13 and PVA10 Series.
The PVT312 Series is packaged in the industry-standard 6-pin DIP package, and is available with either through-hole or "gull-wing" surface mount lead termination styles.
Both the PVT312 and PVT312L are currently available for sampling, distributor stocking and small initial orders. Delivery of the PVT312 Series is available in standard plastic shipping tubes or on tape-and-reel for the surface-mount version only.
