International Rectifier Announces Upgrades for PVDZ172 and PVAZ172 Microelectronic Relays to the Generation 2 PVR ® Technology
EL SEGUNDO, CA. May 1996 - International Rectifier (IR) is upgrading both the popular
PVDZI72 and the PVAZI72 microelectronic relay to the Gen 2 PVR® technology. This will be a true upgrade with nearly all operating parameters being improved, compared to the Gen 1 design.
The Gen 2 upgrades will be available with an "N" suffix to allow for better traceability by our distributors and direct OEM customers.
Manufacture of the new PVDZI72N and PVAZ172N relays will begin in June/July 1996, which is when we estimate that we will run out of the existing dies used in the Gen 1 design. Qualification samples are available from IR. Current inventory in the warehouse is still Gen 1 design.
Packaging, pinout, and price structure of the Gen 2 design will remain unchanged. For your reference and referral, new data sheets for the PVDZ172N and PVAZ172N will be available in the MPIC Microelectronic Relay Designer's Manual and on the Fax-On-Demand system.
