International Rectifier Acquires "High-Reliability" Product Line From Fairchild Semiconductor
EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--March 28, 2002--International Rectifier
Corporation (NYSE:IRF) today announced that it has acquired in an all
cash transaction the "high-reliability" power MOSFET product line from
Fairchild Semiconductor. These high-reliability (HiRel) power
management semiconductors are used extensively in aerospace and
defense applications.
IR expects the product line to contribute approximately $10
million in revenue in the first 12 months and to be accretive
immediately.
