EL SEGUNDO, CA - International Rectifier, IR® (NYSE: IRF) today extended their power product portfolio for portable electronics with four new dual HEXFET® power MOSFETs in the TSSOP-8 package. The new devices have up to 25% lower device on-resistance, or RDS(on) than similar competing devices.

The low on-resistance of the IRF7757, IRF7756, IRF7755 and IRF7754 is achieved using IR's benchmark MOSFET technology, thereby contributing to better power system efficiency and longer battery life in portable electronic equipment.

The TSSOP-8 package is about 35% smaller than the industry-standard SO-8. IR's silicon technology enables the smaller TSSOP-8 devices to perform as efficiently as many of the larger SO-8-packaged devices, allowing the designer to replace SO-8 devices with smaller TSSOP-8 devices.

IR's new 12V P-channel MOSFETs are specifically designed to provide low RDS(on) at gate voltages as low as 1.8V, the operating voltage used by many logic ICs in portable electronics. The 1.8V gate rating simplifies circuits, since an additional boost circuit is not required.

The new devices have been optimized for battery and load management applications in portable, battery operated equipment such as MP3 players, cell phones, digital cameras, notebook computers and other small electronic products.
