International Rectifier Announces New High Temperature-Rated Ultrafast Output Diodes for Industrial and Heavy-Duty Applications
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - International Rectifier, IR® (NYSE: IRF) today announced the 70CRU04, a 70 amp, 400 volt ultrafast diode, with a 175°C operating temperature rating. The new device is designed for high frequency switching and output rectifier applications such as welding, switch-mode power supply (SMPS) and power conversion.
Output diodes with fast recovery speed and high frequency contribute to improved power supply efficiency, reducing size, weight and cost of power supply circuits. The new 70CRU04 ultrafast diode has a reverse recovery time of 32ns at full-rated current. Higher frequencies enable the use of smaller magnetic components such as transformers and coils, reducing weight, cost and size even further.
Dr. Francesco Vallone, International Rectifier Product Marketing Manager, said, "The new ultrafast diode will enable manufacturers to make high current products in compact footprints. Moreover, snubber circuits in most applications can be minimized or eliminated, allowing manufacturers to reduce part count, space requirements and cost."
