International Rectifier Announces New High Temperature-Rated Ultrafast Output Diodes
EL SEGUNDO, Ca. October 2001 - International Rectifier, IRŪ (NYSE:IRF - news) today announced the 70CRU02, a 70 amp, 200 volt ultrafast diode, with a 175 degrees Celsius operating temperature rating.
The new device is designed for high frequency switching and output rectifier applications such as welding, switch-mode power supply (SMPS) and power conversion.
Dr. Francesco Vallone, International Rectifier Product Marketing Manager, said, ``The 70CRU02 is designed to exceed performance and reliability expectations in harsh environments.''
Switching characteristics are optimized for high frequency applications. For example, the new ultrafast diode has a reverse recovery time of 26ms at full-rated current. Output diodes with fast recovery speed contribute to power supply efficiency, and reduce physical size, weight and cost of power supply circuits. In addition, snubber circuits in most applications can be minimized or eliminated. This means that manufacturers can reduce parts count, space requirements and cost in their products.
