INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER EXPANDS ITS ULTRAFAST DIODE OFFERING WITH NEW 200V DEVICES
IR's new MUR Series of Ultrafast recovery diodes is ideal for use in the output stages of 24V/48V SMPS systems, one of the fastest growing segments in the power supply market.

EL SEGUNDO, CA. April 2000 - International Rectifier (IR®), the power conversion experts, now offer the MUR Series of epitaxial diodes with reverse recovery times of 25ns. Available in single and center-tapped dual configurations, the new devices are ideal for use in switch-mode power supply (SMPS) applications.
"With breakdown voltage ratings of 200V, our new MUR fast recovery diodes are particularly appropriate for 24V/48V SMPS systems, one of the fastest growing product segments in the power supply market," said Steve Ahn, marketing director for input/output products at IR. "We plan to price the new devices aggressively and offer deliveries in four weeks or less, while suppliers of similar products are raising prices and stretching lead times."

Samples and production quantities of all the new MUR fast recovery diodes are available now. Pricing starts at $0.40 each for 10k part lots. Expansion of the product series is ongoing with 400V devices for 48V output rectification and 600V devices for PFC (Power Factor Correction) applications planned.
