International Rectifier Schottky Diodes Maximize Power Supply
Price/Performance Ratio
EL SEGUNDO, Ca. April 2000 - International Rectifier (NYSE:IRF - news)
MBR-series Schottky diodes economically execute output rectification in switch-mode power supplies
(SMPS). Switching power supplies are used in telecommunications, computers and computer peripherals, network servers and business
telephone (PBX) systems.
``The MBR-series Schottky diodes are aimed directly at the output rectifier stages in high-volume SMPS designs. The silicon die and package
configurations are optimized for price, performance and reliability. There are 70 members in the MBR Schottky diode family, in selected voltages
from 35 to 100V, and current ratings from 7 to 60A. The wide spectrum of devices fills the output rectification sockets in most economy-class
SMPS design,'' says Steve Ahn, Product Marketing Manager.
The MBR-series devices come in industry-standard D(2)Pak, TO-262, TO-220AC, TO-220AB and TO-247, to accommodate most circuit board
layout or chassis configurations.
Samples and production quantities are available immediately. Pricing in 5,000-lot quantities begins as low as US $0.85 each for the
MBR20100CT, a 20A, 100V Schottky diode in the TO-220 package, to US $1.50 each for the MBR3045WT, a 30A, 45V device in the TO-247
package.
