EL SEGUNDO, Calif. March 17, 2000 -International Rectifier (IR®) today announced a new family of improved INT-A-Pak power modules for high-voltage, high-current switching and rectification circuits for motor controls, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), forklift trucks, battery chargers, welders and other industrial applications.

The improved INT-A-Pak module features lightweight construction, high mechanical strength and increased safety. According to Diego Giorio, product marketing manager: ``The new INT-A-Pak assembly techniques improve performance reliability, and high temperature reverse bias (HTRB) characteristics. In addition, the new module casing is made from recycled polymers and meets the most stringent environmental requirements.''

There are more than 100 versions of the new INT-A-Pak modules featuring breakdown voltages from 400 to 1600V with current handling capability up to 230A for rectification and 160A for switching applications.

Pricing for IR's new INT-A-Pak modules begins at $47 each in 25-99-unit quantities. Samples and production quantities are available immediately. Data sheets for the new INT-A-Pak modules are available from the IR Web site.
