AC-DC Adaptor Secondary
Schottky diodes are an economical high performance solution, however, significant efficiency
improvement can be gained by replacing traditional Schottky rectification with synchronous rectification MOSFETs.
The new range of 75V and 100V HEXFET® Power MOSFETs, with the highest synchronous rectification performance in
AC-DC SMPS applications, enables lower conduction losses for higher efficiency and greater power density. The 75V
and 100V devices are available in TO-220, D2Pak, TO-262 and lead-free.
In addition, International Rectifier also has a selection of ICs suitable for driving secondary MOS and for
implementing synchronous buck regulators for 5V, 3.3V and lower outputs.
