CUSTOM CAPABILITIES |
CUSTOM DESIGN
With extensive experience in every facet of high-reliability power
management design, IR’s team of experts stand ready to design
custom modules to meet the most critical thermal, mechanical
and environmental specifications. An automated design review
process provides thermal and mechanical modeling throughout
concept and production phases. Whether your design is at the
conceptual stage or production ready, it will go through extensive
engineering review to insure flawless operation when it matters
most. The end result will be a proposal that outlines all specific
key electrical and mechanical specifications required to
accomplish the task.
DESIGN AND ASSEMBLY OPERATIONS
International Rectifier’s custom design and manufacturing
services are performed at its state-of-the-art 68,000 SF facility in
Leominster, MA. The facility contains 7,000 SF of manufacturing
floor space for SMT assembly, a 10,000 SF class 100,000 area for
test and finishing, and a 20,000 SF Class 10,000 cleanroom
where die, packaging, and hybrid assembly are performed.
Space level DC-DC converters are designed and manufactured
in our 45,265 SF facility in San Jose, California.

DESIGN ANALYSIS AND DOCUMENTATION
IR’s design process ensures manufacturing success. Our
strong team of electrical, mechanical, and CAD engineers
are veteran designers for high-reliability applications. They
take into account design factors that will allow for success
in manufacturing both prototypes and volume ramps.
The AutoCAD® platform is our primary method of layout which
allows us to accept customer inputs produced on many other
software platforms. All design data is stored and backed up on
a secure, internal IT network as well as data storage facility
offsite for added security.
We utilize Keyfile® for documentation storage. Our document
system is controlled via an engineering change order /
control method.
In addition to our standard design and production capabilities,
we have the ability to take specific customer schematics, turn
them into a layout, generate a prototype, and then release the
product to manufacturing in instances where some of the
design work already is in place.
