Higher Performance; Higher Efficiency Pump Motor Control

Pump controls using IR’s iMOTION Integrated Design Platform have low-loss, low EMI space vector pulse width modulation and high efficiency sinusoidal current control for quiet operation and higher efficiency. The modular approach eliminates software programming, increasing efficiency and simplifying design. In addition, the single shunt current sensorless control does not require voltage feedback sensing and increases reliability.

The iMOTION mixed-signal control IC implements a sensorless FOC algorithm in hardware eliminating the need for software development. The sensorless algorithm detects the rotor position based on the motor current measurement only, while the control hardware allows motor winding currents to be measured without expensive isolation circuits.
