International Rectifier has participated (and will continue to participate) in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) globally by responding to the CDP’s Investor Questionnaire setting a company baseline for owned, manufacturing plants.
International Rectifier’s ongoing efforts in addressing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reductions are illustrated by these projects:
Energy Efficient Light Replacement Project- which has the potential to save 9700 kilograms of carbon dioxide (a principal greenhouse gas) and £500,000 over five years by reducing energy consumption and maintenance.
Power Factor Correction and N2/CDA Interlink- which is saving over 500,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide (a primary greenhouse gas).
Bicycle to Work Program- which includes support for bicycle purchases is popular with employees and has exceeded expectations.
IR also participates in the European Union Energy Trading Scheme (EUETS) and the Climate Change Levy / Climate Change Agreement (CCL/CCA) which are helping to reduce greenhouse gas reductions by imposing levies on emissions and allowing carbon trading |
