FIELD QUALITY MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE
- Owner of Request for Device Analysis process (logistics, RDA & approval, RDA closure with customer)
- Manage specification review process for customer specific requirements.
- Manage customer visits, establish relationships, complaints and information requests for continuous customer satisfaction
- Manage customer report cards and roadmap for improving IR’s supplier rating
- Focused on critical customers in the region.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- First point of contact for customer and communication
- Customer Response Reactive:
- Manage the logistics of RDA through receipt form customer to shipment to FA lab, RDA review and approval and RDA closure with customer.
- Initiate Corrective Actions requests and drive problem-solving solution to meet customer’s expectations.
- Facilitate Emergency Response teams to ensure customer expectations & responsiveness is met.
- Drive the problem resolution process to closure, initiate conference calls, align corporate resources and maintain customer confidence.
- Interface with customers, factory and corporate groups to resolve field and internal product failure issues.
- Perform field evaluation for risk analysis of defective product and provide input, data, and information for final disposition.
- Customer Responsiveness Proactive:
- Develop relationships with strategic customer quality management personnel by making routine visits not related to quality issues.
- Customer Specification reviews for Quality System, Product Reliability, Quality expectations (PPM) and ultimately create and agree to a Quality Agreement.
- Manager customer surveys such as environmental & quality system prior to product introduction or based on customer policy changes.
- Proactively be aware of upcoming product or quality system changes in customer specifications through Supplier Manuals, Contracts, or web postings and proactively communicate and align internal changes to meet customer-revised requirements.
- Develop plan for consistent proactive customer visits to work on improvement actions per quality agreement.
- Voice of the customer and interface for new product introductions
- Provide guidance to customers with respect to possible miss application of IR devices or customer circuit mis-match.
- Provide guidance in handling, storage, and manufacturing process in relation to the use of IR products.
- Customer Measurement & Continuous Improvement:
- Routine Supplier report card review and work actions out with appropriate personnel for goal of improving supplier rating (Plan-Do-Check-Act).
- Knowledge to be able to explain FA reports to customers and answer questions as they relate to IR’s wafer fabrication and assembly process.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
FUNCTIONAL:
- Demonstrated success in working with customers using effective communication skills.
- Five years Semiconductor Quality and/or Failure Analysis.
- Skilled in interfacing with customers and home office.
- Worked in a customer relationship role with customers for at least three years.
- Knowledge and experienced using a disciplined problem solving methods (e.g. 8D,FMEA, risk analysis 5-whys)” & demonstrated results.
- Experienced in 6 sigma quality tools and skilled in the use of DOE techniques.
TECHNICAL:
- Understanding of Power Semiconductor processes, Failure mechanisms, and FA techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in semiconductor testing.
- Working knowledge of customer circuitry as it relates to the use of IR products.
- Demonstrated expertise in the use of computers and software (Excel, word, PowerPoint, and statistical software).
INDUSTRY:
- Semiconductor industry working experience required.
- Wafer Fabrication and Assembly background desirable.
- Application engineering experience desirable.
- Quality systems related knowledge e.g. TS16949 and/or ISO9001
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum requirement: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science
- Semiconductor background and training.
- Three plus years in the field of Technical Quality (FA/Rel/customer issues).
- Preferred: Field Applications Engineer and Master’s Degree in Technical Field.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Must be fluent in English and Korean.
OTHERS:
- Ability to travel to customer and manufacturing facilities as needed.
- Expected to complete all task and jobs as required on time.
- Expected to listen to customers needs and fit them into planned requirements.
- Knowledgeable of IR Products, processes, QA and Reliability procedures and philosophies.
- Knowledge of Quality Systems and methods. (ISO, QS, SPC, FMEA, Gage R&R etc).
