We, at International Rectifier, are developing and manufacturing our most advanced power management
technologies at our Newport facility, focusing on analog and mixed signal markets, using CMOS and Power
MOSFET processes.
Production and test facilities are all located at one site in Newport, South Wales. The
six-inch fab (Fab 10) supports wafers at 0.5µm and combines conventional and SMIF cleanroom
concepts to provide class 1.0 and class 0.1 environments, respectively. With a cleanroom area
of 3,000m², the eight-inch fab (Fab 11) supports wafers at 0.35µm. There is also a design center
located at Oxted and European support centre located at Reigate.

IC DEVICE ENGINEER
Job Description:
International Rectifier is looking for an IC Device Engineer with strong technical background and experience of IC technology, preferably with HV devices and /or analogue components. They will work with current team members to improve yield, parametric and assembly performance of IC products in FAB 10 and FAB11.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Improve the yield and parametric performance of IC products manufactured internally;
- Good problem solving skills, ability to lead and use 8D techniques in a team situation;
- Initiative to quickly identify problems and implement corrective actions;
- Define DOE experiments and complete the analysis using JMP software;
- Ability to communicate technically to both the process and development teams;
- Ability to communicate effectively to all the department teams within the organisation;
- Provide support to the Device section leader when required;
- Must be flexible and willing to support the requirements of a 24/7 organisation.
Essential Requirements:
- BSc in scientific discipline;
- 3 years Process/ Integration/Device experience on IC technology;
- Good technical background.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER
Job Description:
International Rectifier is looking for an Industrial Engineer who will be responsible for;
- Dynamic Capacity/Labour modelling, generation of Key materials forecast;
- Rationalisation of loadings taking into consideration site level costs;
- Introduction and maintenance of standards costing database;
- Implementation of LEAN manufacturing systems with manufacturing and engineering groups to minimise cost, cycle time, human error and resource consumption whilst maximising efficiency, output and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy of Capacity/Resource requirement data (via Time/Production studies);
- Ensure accuracy of Standards costing database;
- Identify constraints, document and map existing processes, remove inefficiencies and promote new process/procedure;
- Setting of key FAB operational performance targets;
- Maintenance of Resources in planning system to reflect current manufacturing capacity;
- Aid engineering modules in identifying availability/setup improvements to increase capacity hence reduce overall tooling requirement.
Essential Requirements:
- Maths to GCSE level
- BTEC level in science / engineering or higher
- Computer literate
- Experience working in manufacturing environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge i.e. pivot tables, vlookup/hlookup, conditional formatting, scenarios, macros etc
- Ability to use Microsoft Powerpoint and Word
Desirable Requirements:
- Science related / Industrial Engineering Degree
- Experience in working in Semiconductor Manufacturing environment
- Microsoft Access skills
- AutoCAD skills
- Knowledge in Promis MES
- Knowledge in Fabtime reports
- Understanding of OEE
