Field Application Engineer (Moscow)

Products:

• Integrated Power Modules for Motor Drive and DC/DC Conversion (IRAM, iPOWIR, Superbuck)
• HVIC's for Motor Drive, Lighting, Consumer, SMPS, Welding, Induction Heating, Class D
• LVIC's for DC/DC conversion
• MOSFETs (e.g. DirectFET), IGBT's
• Protected MOSFETs (IPS)
• Intelligent mixed signal Motion Controller (iMotion)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design-In of existing products and definition/specification of new products in close conjunction with the Design Centers in USA, Italy, France, UK and the design engineers of the account(s) covered. Primarily focus on IC's and intelligent Power Modules.
• Provide application specific expertise in Power Management design (>10KW) towards the customer and towards the Design Center
• Work in a team with Sales in order to meet common targets
• Work in team with Field Quality in solving customers problems
• Drive profitable revenue growth at account(s) through meeting or exceeding Design-In targets.
• Work directly with customer design and design management personnel on a project-by-project basis.
• Located in local IR Salesoffice, spending most of the time with customer design teams.
• Provide and support customers with design assistance tools.
• Establish and develop relationships with key customer engineering personnel and decision makers.
• Provide feedback to engineering and manufacturing on product improvements, new product concepts and new product characterization.
• Understand International Rectifiers technical capabilities and commercial targets and work with them in mind.
• Provide training and technical support for distributor FAE's.
• Provide technical support at fairs

Technical capabilities, Qualifications:

• Diploma of Engineering in related field.
• At least 3 years Power Management design experience in one of the following fields: SMPS, Motor Control, Lighting or Class D. Alternatively min 3 years field applications experience at a manufacturer or specialised distributor of digital, analog or power semiconductors targeting Power Management applications.
• Familiar with Converter topologies and selection criterions
• Familiar with regulation schemes and implementation (closing the loop)
• Familiar with high frequency board layout including EMC aspects
• Familiar with MOSFET / Diode / Capacitor selection and parasitics
• Ability to measure switching / conduction losses, efficiency, load transients…
• Familiarity with high frequency inductor and or Motor design appreciated but not mandatory
• Ability to define and conduct system level tests.
• Familiar with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
• Familiar with Simulation tools like Spice or Saber, Matlab / Simulink and / or board layout tools appreciated but not required.

Interpersonal Skills and/or Aptitude required, directly related to the job

• Willingness to Travel (3 days a week)
• Fluent in Russian and English (oral and written)
• Have a “curious approach” of asking the right questions.

• Be persistent and self motivated in order to define sub goals, tasks and actions.
• Be able to work and communicate within a team environment.
