We support news ideas and continuous improvement at all levels, within departments, functional areas, and across the company. We believe it is critical to our success to create awareness and consensus about corporate identity, values and goals. This includes providing employees with a variety of opportunities to communicate their views, suggestions and concerns.
The following activities have become part of our business practice:
- CEO holds small and large group employee meetings, communicates corporate goals and business updates via CD ROM, and distributes financial data each quarter following our earnings release.
- VPs communicate with all employees within their functional areas through quarterly meetings and more frequently in informal Q & A sessions with small groups of employees.
- Managers and Supervisors communicate with employees through monthly departmental meetings and scheduled one-on-one meetings.
- A "Speaker Series" program invites employees site-wide to learn more about different aspects of our business through the sharing of information from a member of our senior management team.
- Sites publish newsletters to introduce new hires; announce promotions, transfers, and birthdays; and share information about local events.
- Employees enjoy direct access to our CEO by utilizing the "AskAlex" internal e-Mail address at any time.
- Anonymous employee opinion surveys are conducted bi-annually at each site. These provide employees with additional opportunities to express their feelings on work conditions and many general topics.
- Various departments sponsor employee information boards throughout our facilities. These include job postings, event announcements, employee recognition announcements, production goals/achievements, and more.
- Suggestion boxes for Safety, Facilities and other departments are provided for employee feedback at IR sites.
