MOTIX™ | BLDC Motor Gate Driver ICs
Infineon offers a broad portfolio of MOTIX™BLDC gate drivers for automotive motor control & functional safety applications
MOTIX™ BLDC motor gate driver ICs comprises of a comprehensive automotive qualified 3-phase gate driver ICs portfolio for voltage domains ranging from 12 V to 48 V with ISO 26262-ready as well as ISO 26262-compliant variants. Our products are ideal for a variety of automotive applications such as electric power steering, brake booster, MHEV starter generator, active roll control, HVAC compressor as well as pumps and fans and where efficiency, space savings and monitoring functions are priorities.
MOTIX™ offers a broad range of solutions for 12 V applications depending on the safety requirements and the overall system requirements. Our TLE9185 product family are ISO-ready devices including an integrated current sense amplifier (CSA) in a smaller VQFN-48 package. With the TLE9180D-21QK & 32QK we have also ISO-ready devices with 2 or 3 integrated CSA in a larger LQFP-64 package. The TLE9183QK derivative is our 12 V ASIL D compliant device suited for safety relevant applications such as EPS and braking.
For 24 V and 48 V applications, MOTIX™ offers the TLE9140EQW as an ASIL B compliant device without an integrated CSA, but with divers internal monitoring & diagnostic features in a tiny TSDSO-32 package. The TLE9180D-32QK on the other hand is compliant to ASIL C requirements and has 3 integrated CSAs in a LQFP-64 package, which makes it suitable in particular for safety related applications such as EPS and braking.
We have two new innovative MOTIX™ BLDC motor gate driver ICs entering the market soon. Both products are developed according to the ISO 26262 ASIL D development flow and are addressing the needs of safety relevant application such as EPS and braking. Below some product highlights:
- MOTIX™ TLE9188x product family has an innovative digital motor control concept, which uses an integrated digital timer unit for PWM generation and three 12-bit ADCs for accurate current shunt measurement. This device we will offer both in a grade 1 and grade 0 variant and is designed in a tiny VQFN-32 package addressing space constraints. Targeted public release is in Q4, 2023
- The MOTIX™ TLE9189x product family, on the other hand, uses a conventional motor control concept via PWM input control and three integrated current sense amplifiers for current ground measurement with a precise configurable reference voltage (3.3/5V). This device will be grade 0 qualified and offered in both a TQFP-48 and in a smaller VQFN-48 package, which allows for a flexible design. Targeted release is in Q3, 2024.
In case of interest in the above two mentioned products, please follow this family page to receive notification updates related to the products and detailed info’s once the products are publicly released.
Typical BLDC motor applications for automotive include powertrain, chassis, safety and ADAS systems such as electric power steering, brake booster, MHEV starter generator, active roll control, HVAC compressor, transfer case, pumps and fans
